The 3 cleaners

The Victoria and Albert Museum has The Three Graces  and Walthamstow Town Square has The Three Cleaners, brandishing mops, aprons and toilet brushes. Why? Because this borough is a dirty borough. Street cleansing services have been sold to a private contractor, Kier, which cuts staff and makes the existing ones work harder – and the politicians have a whiff of scandal around them following maladministration of funds. An Independent Panel report found that the council had lost the people of the borough millions of pounds.
Our three cleaners will be travelling the borough calling for MP’s to stand on workers wages, for a public enquiry into the IPR and for the money to be repaid, for Kier, the private profiteer to have its contract withdrawn in the interest of public hygene. The cleaning trio will be pointing out that the only way to do this is by becoming active in the struggle against these career politicians, joining us and voting for Nancy Taaffe.
